The Jews and modern state of Israel are not God`s chosen people.

People who think this do not know and understand the New Testament, which plainly teaches that the Israel of the Old Testament was but a shadowy type of what was to come, the true ZION which is God`s CHURCH, composed of all who truly repent and turn from sin to God, believing on Jesus. THIS IS THE TRUE ISRAEL and heir to all God`s blessings and promises, the apostles teach us. In fact, most of the Jews of Israel under the old covenant were disobedient, lost sinners--NOT God`s chosen! Some people mistakenly think that the Jews will turn en masse to Christ at the end times and be saved. That is more misunderstanding resultant from believing false teaching. The apostles contrast Mt. Sinai with Mt. Zion (the church of God) which is also the heavenly Jerusalem, the body of Christ composed of all the truly born-again REDEEMED who follow Jesus faithfully. `If you belong to Christ, then you are children of Abraham and will receive the blessings in God`s promises.`

28A person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit.... (Romans 2)

There are no chosen people apart from those who receive and obey Jesus! After all who ever will come to Jesus in repentance and obedient faith have done so, then the day of salvation will have ended and `all Israel will be saved`--meaning that the church will be complete, the day of salvation over at Christ`s coming in judgment at the resurrection. God calls ALL mankind to repentance and obedient faith in his Son. All those who ANSWER his call are become HIS CHOSEN. God does not show any favoritism to persons based on their parentage or nationality. (In fact, very few `Jews` of modern times are literally and physically descended from Jacob/Israel. Most are, rather, descendants of converts to Judaism long centuries ago in many scattered regions like Europe.)

All that said, the modern state of Israel (which founding in 1947-48 has NOTHING to do with biblical prophecy!) is a friendly democracy, headed up by a man I greatly admire, Benjamin Netanyahu. But there is NO BIBLICAL BASIS for Jews to claim this region of the world as their rightful possession--other than the present fait accompli, meaning that the status quo is an accomplished fact. Palestinians have rights too, and there are friendly rulers now in Jordan and Egypt we also should support. God`s promises to ancient Israel were always contingent on their faithfulness. In A.D. 70 after the Jewish people in the main had rejected Christ, the tribulation which Jesus predicted in Matthew 24 occurred (he had said it would occur during the lifetimes of many of those hearing his words, and it did come about four decades later), Jerusalem and the newly completed wonderful temple were destroyed (and again, 65 years later in 135 A.D., the Jews were practically wiped off the map in the last Roman army devastation) -- and what happened to the promise that God gave David that his heir would ALWAYS sit on David`s throne through all generations? It was FULFILLED IN CHRIST, reigning over spiritual Israel NOW and continually in the present kingdom of God, a spiritual kingdom in the hearts of all those in whom God`s will is done. While others look in vain for an age to come, HE IS REIGNING IN OUR HEARTS TODAY!

Galatians 3:7-8 ... You should realize, then, that the real descendants of Abraham are the people who have faith. The scripture predicted that God would put the Gentiles right with himself through faith.
